Updated with an improved fit, bonding rather than stitching to save weight, and an all new, proprietary merino-based fabric, RPM190 (Rapha Performance Merino – the 190 indicates grams per square metre). Unlike generic merino-blends, RPM190 is light, soft, breathable and adaptable to a huge range of conditions, and while heavier than the fabric used in the short sleeve version, it is lighter than the fabric used in first iteration on the Long Sleeve Jersey. Offering excellent pocket support and comfort in a wide range of temperatures, RPM is the most versatile cycling fabric in the world. The valuables pocket uses stretch mesh for less weight and more capacity. Valuables pocket outer has a reflective tape over a bonded-in zip. A special edition jersey celebrating Giovanni Cuniolo, the legendary rider who won the 1909 Giro di Lombardia. The jersey is finished in vivid evergreen colours, combining a Breton-style collar, ribbed cuffs and Sportwool fabric. This highly collectable jersey is as suited to training rides as it is casual wear. 1909 was a distinctive time for bike racing. Many riders were as interested in stopping their opponents as they were in making it over the finish line. Riders like Giovanni Gerbi (known as Il Diavolo Rosso, the Red Devil) would go to any lengths to win. But for every villain there is, invariably, a hero. And Gerbis came in the form of Giovanni Cuniolo known as Manina, or little hand, because of his fondness for physicality in the sprints. Maninas and Gerbis rivalry was legendary brutal and beautiful in equal measure. Their fiercest battle was set for the 1909 Giro di Lombardia, known then as the Criterium dAutunno, or race of the falling leaves. Of the 363 starters, Gerbi was destined not to be among them, his schemes this time undone by a bout of flu. And so, despite puncturing at Cappelletta, it was Cuniolo who rode home first. This classic-style jersey celebrates the 1909 Giro di Lombardia and Cuniolos famous victory. Created to mirror Raphas Gerbi-inspired Lombardia Jersey of 2012, the jersey is finished in vivid evergreen colours, combining a Breton-style collar, ribbed cuffs and Sportwool fabric.
